One-Time Purchase, Not a Microsoft 365 Subscription

Microsoft Office Home and Business 2024 for Mac is sold as a one-time purchase rather than a recurring Microsoft 365 subscription. It includes the classic desktop applications listed above for one compatible Mac.

Unlike Microsoft 365, Office 2024 does not include the subscription services and continuously delivered feature upgrades associated with Microsoft 365 plans. A future major Office release would require a separate purchase if you choose to upgrade.

macOS Compatibility

Office 2024 for Mac is intended for supported macOS versions. Microsoft supports Office for Mac on the three most recent major versions of macOS, with the oldest supported version changing as new major macOS releases become generally available.

Before purchasing, confirm that your Mac is running a supported macOS version and meets Microsoft’s current Office system requirements. Compatibility can also depend on the hardware and any third-party software you use.

For current requirements, review Microsoft’s Office system requirements.

Office 2024 Support Lifecycle

Office 2024 is currently supported by Microsoft under the Modern Lifecycle Policy. Microsoft’s published lifecycle information lists support for Office 2024 Home and Business for Windows and Mac through October 2029.

You can review the current lifecycle information on the official Microsoft Office 2024 lifecycle page.

Who This Product Is For

This edition is suitable for home users, freelancers and small-business users who need Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook on one compatible Mac without a recurring Microsoft 365 subscription.

It can be a practical choice for users who prefer locally installed desktop applications and a one-time purchase model.

Office 2024 vs Microsoft 365

Office Home and Business 2024 is a one-time-purchase product for one Mac. Microsoft 365 is a subscription service that can include Office applications across multiple devices together with cloud storage and other subscription services, depending on the plan.

If you prefer a subscription option, see our Microsoft 365 Personal – 1 Year Subscription.

Digital Delivery and Activation

This is a digital software product. After payment confirmation, product information and installation or activation guidance are delivered electronically. No physical disc or boxed product is shipped.

Install the appropriate Office 2024 edition on a compatible Mac and complete activation according to the supplied instructions. Activation, transfer and usage rights depend on the specific licence supplied and Microsoft’s applicable licence terms.

Before You Buy

Please confirm that you need the Mac edition, that your macOS version is supported and that the included applications meet your requirements. If you require use across multiple devices or subscription services such as cloud storage, a Microsoft 365 plan may be more appropriate.
