Licence Terms
This page explains the terms that govern your use of the software once your licence has been delivered, as distinct from our Terms & Conditions, which cover the sale itself. It should be read alongside our Product Authenticity & Sourcing and Warranty Information pages.
Who Sets the Rules for Using the Software
GOLAVON LIMITED sells you a genuine licence to use Microsoft software. We are the seller and, where applicable, an authorised Microsoft Partner facilitating that sale, we are not the licensor. Your actual right to install, activate, and use the software is governed by Microsoft's own End User Licence Agreement (EULA), which you will be asked to accept during installation or activation. In the event of any conflict between this page and Microsoft's EULA for the specific product, the manufacturer's EULA takes precedence for matters of software use.
What We Deliver vs What the Licence Covers
We are responsible for delivering a genuine, valid licence key or subscription credential, matching the product and edition you ordered, see our Terms & Conditions and Warranty Information.
Microsoft's EULA governs everything about how you may use that licence once delivered, including how many devices it can be installed or activated on, whether it can be transferred to a different device or user, what happens if you upgrade or replace your hardware, and update, support, and end-of-life terms for the software version you purchased.
Licence Types and Their Typical Terms
OEM: tied to the first device it's activated on for the life of that device; not transferable to a new PC.
Retail (FPP): generally transferable to a new device, provided it's removed from the original one first.
Volume: licensed under Microsoft's volume licensing terms, typically for organisational deployment across multiple devices under one agreement.
CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) subscription: tied to your Microsoft account rather than a device; access continues for as long as the subscription is active.
The exact licence type for each product is stated on its product page. If your use case depends on a specific right (e.g. transferability), confirm this with us at contact@golavon.com before ordering.
What You May Not Do
Regardless of licence type, you agree not to resell, sublicense, or redistribute the licence in a way that breaches Microsoft's EULA or volume/CSP program terms; attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or circumvent activation or licensing protections in the software, except to the extent expressly permitted by law; use the licence to activate more devices or users than the licence type permits; or misrepresent the source or nature of the licence when transferring or reselling it further, where transfer is otherwise permitted.
Breach of these terms is a matter between you and Microsoft under the EULA, and may result in Microsoft revoking or restricting the licence. Such revocation, where caused by your own breach, is not covered by our Warranty Information.
Ownership
All software, trademarks, and intellectual property rights in the products we sell remain the property of Microsoft Corporation (or the relevant rights holder). Purchasing a licence gives you the right to use the software under the applicable EULA — it does not transfer ownership of the software or any underlying intellectual property to you.
Support for Using the Software
Technical support for how to use the software itself (features, troubleshooting general behaviour) is provided by Microsoft through its own official channels, since Microsoft develops and maintains the product. Issues with the validity or delivery of your licence are handled by us, see our Warranty Information and FAQ.
