Microsoft Windows 10 Home is designed for home users who need the familiar Windows 10 experience for everyday tasks such as web browsing, email, documents, media playback and compatible applications.
Important: Microsoft ended standard support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025. Windows 10 devices can continue to operate, but Microsoft no longer provides standard technical support, feature updates or free security updates for the operating system. Before purchasing, confirm that Windows 10 is appropriate for your device or legacy software requirements.
Transfer and reactivation rights are subject to Microsoft’s applicable licence terms and product conditions.
Windows 10 reached end of support on 14 October 2025. Microsoft states that Windows 10 PCs can continue to function after this date, but the standard operating system no longer receives free software updates, security fixes or technical assistance.
If your PC supports Windows 11, Microsoft recommends moving to a supported Windows version. Eligible Windows 10 devices may also have Extended Security Updates options available for a limited period. See Microsoft’s official Windows 10 end-of-support guidance for current information.
Microsoft Windows 10 Home provides the classic Windows desktop experience with the Start menu, taskbar, File Explorer and familiar system controls. It is designed for users who prefer Windows 10 or need compatibility with specific software or hardware.
The operating system supports common everyday workloads including browsing, productivity applications, media playback, online communication and compatible PC software.
Windows 10 Home includes Windows Security, Microsoft Defender Antivirus and Windows Firewall. These features are designed to help protect the PC from common threats and provide basic device security controls.
Because Windows 10 is outside standard support, built-in security features should not be interpreted as receiving the same ongoing standard security-update coverage as a supported Windows version. Users should review Microsoft’s current support and Extended Security Updates options when security is a priority.
Windows 10 Home supports compatible productivity software, web browsers, communication tools, streaming services and PC games. It remains useful for users who need a familiar Windows environment for personal tasks or software that has not yet moved to a newer operating system.
Performance and compatibility depend on your PC hardware, drivers and the applications you plan to use. Check the requirements of important programs and peripherals before installation.
Before installing Windows 10 Home, make sure your PC has compatible hardware and drivers. A 64-bit or 32-bit Windows 10 installation may have different hardware requirements, and some modern devices may no longer provide full Windows 10 driver support.
For older PCs or specialist applications, Windows 10 may still be required for compatibility reasons. For new deployments on supported hardware, however, Windows 11 is generally the more appropriate current Windows platform.
Microsoft Windows 10 Home is intended for personal and everyday computing. Windows 10 Pro adds professional features such as BitLocker management, Remote Desktop host functionality, domain join, Group Policy and Hyper-V on compatible hardware.
If you need those professional features, see our Microsoft Windows 10 Pro option.
This is a digital software licence product. After payment confirmation, the product key and activation guidance are delivered electronically. No physical disc or boxed product is shipped.
Install the correct Windows 10 Home edition on a compatible PC and enter the supplied product key to complete activation. Installation media availability and activation behaviour can depend on the licence type and Microsoft’s current services.
Please confirm that you specifically need Windows 10 Home rather than Windows 11 Home. Windows 10 is no longer in standard support, so it is best suited to users with a clear compatibility, legacy application or hardware requirement.
If your computer meets Windows 11 requirements and you want a currently supported Home edition, see our Microsoft Windows 11 Home product.
Activation, transfer and usage rights depend on the specific licence supplied and Microsoft’s applicable licence terms.

Microsoft ended standard support for Windows 10 on 14 October 2025, and the Extended Security Updates programme for home users ended on 13 October 2026. Windows 10 Home keeps working but no longer receives security updates. For a supported system, choose Windows 11 Home if your PC meets the Windows 11 requirements.
No. Standard support ended on 14 October 2025 and the consumer ESU programme ended on 13 October 2026.
Mainly for older PCs that cannot run Windows 11, or software that only works on Windows 10.
Windows 11 needs TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and a supported processor. Check your PC with Microsoft’s PC Health Check app.
